Abstract
The reactions mentioned in the title have been investigated and the relative yields of the various products have been determined. It was found that when p-dichlorobenzene reacts with benzoyl peroxide at certain temperatures the molar yield of 2,5-dichlorodiphenyl was greater than that of the benzoic acid simultaneously formed. The explanation of this observation is discussed in detail. A possible new approach to the determination of the relative reactivities of free radicals with aromatic compounds is mentioned.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9580039
