Alkaloids of the Australian Rutaceae: Evodia xanthoxyloides F.Muell. IV. The structures of Evoxine and Evoxoidine

Abstract

Evoxine is shown by degradation to be a furoquinoline alkaloid. It is 7-(2',3'-dihydroxy-3'-methy1butoxy)-8-methoxydictamnine. Evoxoidine which is formed from evoxine by the action of acid is probably an artefact. It is 7-(3'-methyl-2'-oxobutoxy)-8-methoxydictamnine.
