Abstract
Infra-red absorption spectra between 4000 and 670 cm.-1 have been measured for a number of porphyrins and their iron complexes (haems). These spectra should be of use in the identification and purification of porphyrins, and enable position isomers to be distinguished. Characteristic absorption frequencies for the carbonyl group in different environments have been found.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9510579
