Abstract

The reaction between Ru3(µ-H)(µ3-C12H15)(CO)9 and C2Ph2 affords Ru33-C2Ph2C12H16)(µ- CO)2(CO)6, characterized by a single-crystal X-ray structure determination. Addition of the alkyne to the cluster-bonded C12 ligand gives a bicyclic 12/5 system incorporating the central ruthenium atom of a bent Ru3 chain.
