Editorial from guest editor We-Anda Currie-Luglio:
"Welcome to the Double Helix NAIDOC edition. My name is We-Anda Currie-Luglio, a Mununjali and Minjunbal woman. I have always aspired to be a writer. After completing my Bachelor of Arts degree in creative writing and Indigenous knowledge at Griffith University, I’m now working at CSIRO in the Indigenous Engagement team. In my current role as a communicator, I get to share inspiring stories that take place across CSIRO.
"Storytelling is not just a part of my culture, it is the lifeblood that connects us to our past, present, and future. It is a powerful tool for sharing knowledge, traditions, and beliefs, sparking discussion and curiosity, and inspiring us all.
"In this Issue of Double Helix, I am thrilled to share the stories of incredible Indigenous individuals. They are not just scientists but storytellers in their own right, combining science and culture to create change and inspire the next generation of scientists!"
