Abstract
The effects of osmotic stresses on photosynthetic 14C02 fixation by cotton leaf slices were investigated. Using mannitol and sodium chloride as examples of osmotica which entered leaf cells fairly slowly, and ethylene glycol as a rapidly permeating osmoticum, the relative importance of different components of tissue water status in inhibiting carbon fixation was studied.https://doi.org/10.1071/BI9730025
