Abstract
The protein content of the larval fat body of O. stygia increases during late third-instar development from 1 ·0 mg at day 7 to 3·4 mg in the white prepupa (day 11). This increase is due predominantly to uptake of protein from the haemolymph, in which there is a concurrent fall in protein concentration. The rate of uptake rises from 0·6 mg/day at days 8-9 to 0·9 mg/day at days 10-11.https://doi.org/10.1071/BI9710291
