Abstract

The jassid Orosius ingested radiophosphorus when this isotope was incorporated into a plant. The insect excreted approximately 65 per cent. of the ingested 32p within SO minutes after feeding had begun. The amount ingested plus the amount excreted increased linearly with time for the duration of the experiments (up to S days).
