Abstract
The morphological and anatomical features of six types of fossil leavesfrom brown coal at Yallourn, Victoria, have been described. Comparison withsimilar featUres of living species has shb-wnthat all are extinct members ofthe tribe Banksieae of the family Proteaceae. A new genus Banksieaephyllumhas been instituted to include these. fossil leaves. The suggestion has beenmade that the identification of fossil leaves with either Banksia or Dryandra isimpracticable.https://doi.org/10.1071/BI9500133
