Abstract

The genus Pateena Hill is redefined. The following new genera and species allied to Pateena are described: Macromannus, gen, nov. (type-species M. webbicus, sp. nov.); Ordirete, gen. nov. (typespecies O. hopevalensis, sp. nov.); Lativena, gen. nov. (type-species L. productior, sp. nov.), L. producta, sp. nov; Cryptomannus, gen. nov. (type-species C. furvus, sp. nov.), C. illustris, sp. nov.; Duonota, gen. nov. (type-species D. concava, sp. nov.), D. compressa, sp. nov., D. truncata, sp. nov., D. spinosigenua, sp, nov., D. decoricauda, sp. nov., D. multidentata, sp, nov., D. bimaculata, sp. nov., D. bicamaca, sp. nov.; Rectilamina, gen. nov. (type-species R. borealis, sp. nov.), R. torquata, sp. nov., R. australis, sp, nov., R. spinosisura, sp. nov., R. oblonga, sp. nov., R. illacuna, sp. nov., R. curvicauda, sp. nov.

The Australian genera of Hypselosomatinae and the species of Duonota and Rectilamina are keyed. The taxonomically important structures are discussed as well as the habitat requirements of the new genera in the context of their evolutionary history. Line drawings of significant or useful characters are given.
