Abstract
The taxonomy of the genus Papuapsylla Holland, 1969, is reviewed. Descriptions, diagnoses and illustrations of the principal diagnostic characters are given of the previously described species corrugis (Jordan, 1933), alticola (Jordan, 1937), luluai Holland, 1969, barretti Holland, 1969, minor Holland, 1969, and the following 13 new species: zenoa, glyphona, perplexa, dubia, magna, hollandi, roberti, maxima, gurricos, essarsi, minima, plurispina, spinacuta; P. papuana (Jordan & Rothschild) is discussed. Notes are included on the taxonomic characters used, and the taxonomic methods employed. The problems associated with the taxonomy of this genus are discussed. A key for the identification of males of the species included in this study is provided; females were found lacking in characters suitable for use in keys.https://doi.org/10.1071/AJZS045
