Abstract
Seventeen new species are described in five genera of Australian Hydroptilidae, bringing the total number now known to 97. Interest in the new species centres particularly on the extension of the distribution of the genus Maydenoptila to include south-west Western Australia and on the addition of five species to the highly divergent aberrans-group in Orthotrichia. Further new species are referred to Hellyethira, Orphninotrichia, Mulgravia and to other species-groups in Orthotrichia.https://doi.org/10.1071/ZO9830629
