Abstract
The histochemistry of the secondary cartilage of the mandibular condyle of the mouse has been described and compared with the adventitious cartilage of the chick. Both adventitious and secondary cartilage have the histochemistry of primary hypertrophic cartilage and both cartilages calcify. The cells of the secondary cartilage are capable of producing both bone and cartilage and their histochemistry is consistent with this dual potentiality.https://doi.org/10.1071/ZO9680807
