A new tribe of Termitophilous Aleocharinae (Coleoptera : Staphylinidae) from Australia

Abstract

A new tribe of termitophilous aleocharine Staphylinidae, the Drepanoxenini, is described. The tribe includes a single genus, Drepanoxenus, with six species, all associated with species of Australian harvester termites Drepanotermes (Amitermitinae). No Drepanoxenus is known from more than one species of Drepanotermes.
