Abstract
There was a preponderance of females in wild rabbits collected in Victoria before 1974. This preponderance was established in subadults; in adults the sex ratio tended towards equality or a preponderance of males. The preponderance of females was most marked after the breeding season. A change to male preponderance in the Mallee region coincided with the establishment of the European rabbit flea.https://doi.org/10.1071/WR9810361
