Abstract

Since the commencement in 1957 of a bat-banding programme, in which standard bird-bands have been used, 1559 bats of five species have been banded. Recoveries to date have given information on both local and long-distance movements. The long-distance movements are discussed in detail and indicate a probable seasonal migration of Miniopterus schreibersii blepotis. Various methods used in collecting bats are described.
