A taxonomic revision of Sarcostemma R.Br. subgenus Sarcostemma (Asclepiadaceae: Asclepiadeae) in Australia

Abstract

A taxonomic revision is provided of the genus Sarcostemma R. Br. subgenus Sarcostemma in Australia. Two species are recognised, S. brevipedicellatum P. Forster, sp. nov. and S. viminale (L.) R. Br. S. viminale has two subspecies in Australia, S. viminale subsp. brunonianum (Wight & Arn.) P. Forster, comb, et stat. nov. and S. viminale subsp. australe (R. Br.), P. Forster, comb. et stat. nov.
