Abstract

The name Pygmea Hook. f. is a later homonym and therefore illegitimate. The new name Chionohebe is proposed for this genus of montane to alpine areas in Australia and New Zealand. C. densifolia (syn. P. tetragona) and C. ciliolata are common to both regions. Features of the genus are compared with allied groups and combinations provided for five currently recognized species.
