Abstract

A new penicillate millipede Lophoturus porchi sp. n. (Lophoproctidae) is described from Caverne de la Vierge, François Leguat Giant Tortoise and Cave Reserve, Rodrigues Island, Mauritius. A comparison of the body length, number of sensilla on the gnathochilarial palp, number of linguiform processes and structure of the labral surface as well as genetics based on the 18S and COI genes indicate that this is a new Lophoturus species.
