PY19096Prevalence, perceived barriers and sociodemographic correlates of advance care planning in a sample of outpatients
This study investigated uptake of advance care planning, including completing an advance care directive and appointing an enduring guardian, among Australian adults attending hospital outpatient clinics. Only 20% of participants had completed an advance care directive, and 35% had appointed an enduring guardian. Uptake of advance care planning may be improved with community education and training of community-based care providers in supporting advance care planning.
