Abstract
In February 1990 an international workshop on Interfaces in Molecular, Electron and Surface Physics was held in Perth. The idea for the theme was due in large part to Jim Williams, professor of physics at the University of Western Australia. It grew from a series of informal working seminars involving contributions from groups in the physics and electrical engineering departments of the University of Western Australia and from the physics program at Murdoch University. The contributions fell broadly into the two categories, atomic and surface physics. In the two years the seminar series has run there has been such a fruitful exchange of ideas and techniques between the two research areas that it was decided to focus the workshop in this direction.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH900389
