Abstract
Recent work on the angular distribution of sputtering yields is reviewed and then compared with experiment. The most probable angular distribution law is evaluated from experiment. By averaging over an incident Maxwellian spectrum of ions, it is shown that there is considerable enhancement over the isotropic case, which would increase the total sputtering at the walls or limiters of fusion reactors over the example of an isotropic angular distribution.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH850623
