Abstract
The frequency spectrum of electromagnetic radiation from accelerated magnetic dipoles is computed for circular and Keplerian motion. For circular motion three orientations of the dipole are considered: (1) parallel to the velocity vector, (2) parallel to the radius vector, and (3) perpendicular to the plane of the circle. For Keplerian motion the orientation is taken as perpendicular to the orbit. Expressions that are valid for velocities arbitrarily small and arbitrarily close to the velocity of light are derived. The mean power radiated is determined numerically.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH720197
