Abstract

The dependence on galactic latitude of the 11 and 20 cm polarization of 355 extraga.la.ctic sources reveals no definite evidence of depolarization within the Ga.laxy. The distribution of Faraday rotation can be explained in terms of a. field along the local spiral arm, deformed by magnetic "loops" in the solar neighbourhood.
