Models of Massive Stars in Homologous Gravitational Contraction

Abstract

Nine models of homologously contracting, uniform composition stars have been constructed for p,2M/Mo in the range 10-80. Apart from the two smallest models, all models have convective cores, the size of core increasing with the mass. The rate of contraction increases with mass up to p,2M/Mo = 32 and decreases thereafter. One set of models covers all compositions.
