Abstract
The allowed and forbidden paramagnetic resonance transitions of MnH ions in single crystals of apatite [CalO(PO.). (F, CI)] and smithsonite [ZnCO.] have been investigated. The spin Hamiltonian parameters, describing the spectra observedat 300oK, were found from a third-order perturbation-theory estimate of the eigenvalues, calculated for the cases in which the magnetic field was parallel and perpendicular to the trigonal axis. Since in the case of apatite the D term was not very small compared with the Zeeman term, it had to be included also in the zeroth-order Hamiltonian.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH640537
