Abstract
The equations of motion for a charged particle of constant energy injected into or near a neutral plane separating two opposing magnetic fields are integrated by approximate analytical methods. The simplest relevant field configuration, with an arbitrary intensity gradient in one direction, is chosen. The trajectories of particles injected at arbitrary angles and at points in or near to the neutral plane are discussed in detail.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH640282
