Abstract
The cyclotron theory of the decametric radiations of Jupiter is examined in detail. Providing Jupiter is surrounded by an extensive ionized exosphere, it is shown that the theory accounts for the observed variation in the number of radiation bursts with planetary rotation, their polarization, and their spectra. It is found also that the average power of the bursts and their polarization are functions of the number of bursts.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH630380
