Abstract
A great deal of attention has been given in the meteorological literature to periodicities in the weather and to singularities in temperature or pressure, that is, occasions on which these quantities tend to have an abnormally high or an abnormally low value. The analysis of daily rainfall figures has not received as much attention, however, and it is the purpose of this note to point out some unexpected features in the rainfall occurring in different parts of the world and to advance a possible explanation for the phenomenon.https://doi.org/10.1071/PH530490
