Waders of Tinaroo Dam, north Queensland.

Abstract

Observations are recorded on the seasonal occurrence, numbers, and status of 24 species of waders, including 13 Palaearctic migrants, at Tinaroo Dam near Atherton, North Queensland, during 1958-64. The receding shoreline, created by the release of water for irrigation and hydro-electric power during the spring and summer months, provides an environment that appears to be increasingly attractive to waders on the dam and its vicinity.
