Abstract
The papers which follow are the final reports on a seasonal survey of the eastern Indian Ocean in 1962-63. They deal with the hydrology of the area, zooplankton biomass and numbers; and species of copepods, euphausiids, amphipods and pteropods. This introductory paper describes the main features of the study and some of the more important results to date.
