Abstract
The holotype of Unio moretonicus Reeve has been found and identified as the Tasmanian Velesunio, which, on the grounds of priority, must become V. moretonicus; a lectotype has been selected for Unio aucklandicus Gray, and a number of dimensions of type specimens have been recorded.
