Abstract
Many people continue to view sexual health as being concerned with venereal diseases such as syphilis, gonorrhoea and other nasty things that happen down there. However, as we approach the declining years of the twentieth century we are compelled to face the challenge, cast away the myths, and view sexual health within the big picture of life with all it's complexities, and appreciate that sexual health is an essential part of physical and mental health. There are few people for whom sex has not been important at some stage in their lives, and for many sex plays a dominant part in their lives.https://doi.org/10.1071/HI95328
