Abstract
In a recent article in your journal, the efficacy of several medical instrument cleaning agents was assessed against a variety of artificial soils, including most notably a bacterial biofilm. As pointed out by the authors, there has been no real consideration of the need to remove bacterial biofilm. This omission is all the more surprising given the continuing reports in the literature of nosocomial infections attributed to cross-infection arising from endoscopic procedures. For highlighting this issue, the authors are to be congratulated.https://doi.org/10.1071/HI03066
