Abstract
Mass properties of rocks are fundamentally important in many fields of geoscience. Mass properties, sometimes referred to as textural properties, include density, porosity, and permeability; these are discussed here. Related properties include pore geometry, pore-size distribution, pore surface area, capillary pressure and relative permeability; these characteristics are not covered in these notes, but information on these properties may be found in Wardlaw (1990) and other works listed in the Bibliography.https://doi.org/10.1071/EG990209
