Abstract
Careful primary calibration of a formation density logging (FDL) tool is essential if accurate density data in terms of g cm-3 are to be obtained. The calibration involves detailed comparisons of FDL data and laboratory density measurements made on core samples from the logged boreholes. Calibrations of the detectors in the density tool are then made using non-linear least squares regressions of detector response against the laboratory determined densities.https://doi.org/10.1071/EG989403
