Abstract
The Olympic Dam deposit was discovered by Western Mining Corporation (WMC) in 1975. The deposit is situated on the Stuart Shelf, South Australia (Fig. 1), and has been reported to contain a resource of 2000 million tonnes with average grades of 1.6% copper, 0.6 kg/t uranium oxide, 0.6 g/t gold and 6 g/t silver.
