A major advance in borehole IP logging technology

Abstract

In January 1982, the NSW Department of Mineral Resources began a research project to develop an effective electrical geophysical logging system for mineral exploration boreholes. The project has been jointly sponsored by the Australian Mineral Industries Research Association Ltd (AMIRA). The Department was the first state or federal mineral resources department to receive support from AMIRA, which acts as the coordinating body for project sponsorship funding by the following major Australian exploration companies: The Broken Hill Proprietary Co. Ltd, Carpentaria Exploration Co. Pty Ltd, CRA Exploration Ltd, CSR Ltd, Esso Australia Ltd, Renison Goldfields Consolidated Ltd, Western Mining Corporation Ltd.
