Abstract

The Elura massive sulfide deposit, located near Cobar, New South Wales, is a vertical pipe-shaped source within a sedimentary host. The economic minerals are lead, zinc and silver. Enough pyrrhotite occurs with the ore for the deposit to have been originally discovered by a magnetic survey. It can also be detected by a well-controlled gravity survey.
