Abstract
An improved transformer bridge for the measurement of low field susceptibility of rock specimens has been developed at the CSlRO Division of Mineral Physics. Design features include a low operating frequency which effectively eliminates errors due to conductive rock specimens, and minimisation of sensitivity to thermal changes and mechanical shock. Ergonomic features include a convenient facility for removal of remanent magnetisation of the transformer cores, an overload indicator eliminating the possibility of erroneous readings from this cause, and ready measurement of both in-phase and quadrature components of the signal, which allows the specimen conductivity to be inferred.https://doi.org/10.1071/EG980110
