Abstract

The boundary between the Pacific and Indian plates in the area south of New Zealand is delineated by a line of shallow earthquakes associated with the Macquarie Ridge Complex. Existing data indicate a compressive structural regime in the central and northern parts of the Macquarie Ridge Complex (Johnson and Molnar, 1972).
