Abstract

Techniques are described for trapping and marking Setonix brachyurua Quoy & Gaimard, a rat-kangaroo. A new metal box trap and a new long-net method are described and illustrated.

Ear tags, ear disks, and dye were used for marking, and the results of field tests are given. "Scotchlite" reflective tape was put on tags and greatly increased the conspicuousness of marks in a spotlight at night.
