Abstract
The preparation of anti-9,18-dimethyl-2-thia[3.3](3,3) cyclophan-10-one (4) by intramolecular cyclization of 1,3-bis(3-bromomethyl-2-methylphenyl)propan-1-one (7) is described. The stucture of (4) was determined on the basis of a 1H n.m.r. study.
