Abstract
An attempt to obtain diphenylpropadienylidene Meldrum's acid (5) by a Wittig reaction between oxo Meldrum's acid (6) and the phosphorane (2) gave, in low yield, a cycloadduct of (2) and (5). Its structure (7) was determined by X-ray crystallography.
