Abstract
The structure of the polymeric species of the stoichiometry Nan(Me2NCOCMe2CONMe2)2n(ClO4)n has been determined in the solid state by X-ray diffraction methods. Each Me2NCOCMe2CONMe2 acts as a bridge between two sodium atoms by coordination through oxygen. Each sodium atom is coordinated by four such bridging ligands and by one perchlorate such that the geometric arrangement of the five oxygen atoms about the sodium atom is intermediate between a trigonal bipyramid and a square pyramid.
