Abstract
The X-ray structure of the CH2Cl2-solvate of OsCl(PPh3)2(η-C5H5) has been determined, and compared with that of the non-solvated ruthenium analogue. Crystal are triclinic, space group P1, with a 14.490(3), b 14.110(3), c 9.937(3) Å, α 99.84(2), β 106.57(2), γ 100.08(2)º and Z 2. Refinement of 5297 data with I > 3σ(I) converged with R 0.033, R' 0.038. The Os-C and Os-Cl distances are c.0.007 Å longer than corresponding Ru-C and Ru-Cl distances, while the Os-P separations are 0.017 Å shorter than the Ru-P separations.
