Abstract
A standardized procedure for the accurate measurement (1% error) (in reasonable time (10-20 min)) of critical pulse lengths is recommended. It uses the 2d-n.m.r. scheme:
[t1t2] → [f1t2] [t2] → [f2 ≡ θ]
where t2 is an incremental time, f1 is made to vanish by selection of a single point region and f2 is equivalent to pulse length (angle θ). Pulse imperfections are readily detected. To make the method totally general sources of these imperfections should be corrected. Applications to T1 and 2d-J n.m.r, measurements are outlined.
