Reaction of isothiocyanates with thiourea–a correction

Abstract

The condensation products of isothiocyanates with thiourea reported to be S-(N-substituted thiocarbamoyl)isothioureas are in fact 1- substituted 2,4-dithiobiurets and not the former. The condensation of isothiocyanates with 1-substituted thioureas also is found to yield 1,5-disubstituted 2,4-dithiobiurets. The structures were verified by comparison with authentic samples and chemical reactions.
