Abstract
The steady-state electric-field dependence of the intrinsic photoconduction yield in anthracene has been measured for 104 < E < 105 V m-1, the region where yields are reduced compared to those predicted by the Onsager geminate recombination theory. A theory is proposed to explain the experimental yield-field relationship. It assumes bulk recombination between free and trapped carriers and adequately explains the experimental results. These steady-state results are in agreement with the pulsed measurements of Chance and Braun (1973).
