Abstract
4-Hydroxy-l,6,7-trimethylpteridine-2(1H)-thione reacts with hydrazine to yield 4-amino-5-hydrazino- 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol and 2-hydrazino-1,6,7-trimethylpteridin-4(1H)-one which is subsequently transformed to 2,2'-hydrazobis[l,6,7-trimethylpteridin-4(1H)-one]. Mechanisms are discussed in terms of substituent effects on the pyrimidine ring.https://doi.org/10.1071/CH9760459
